A Bit of Glitz & Glamour
This week saw the release of the critically acclaimed The Theory of Everything on Blu-ray and DVD, which, as most know, was inspired by ‘Travelling to Infinity’; a memoir by Professor Hawking’s first wife, Jane.
This campaign gave us the opportunity to work with The Motor Neurone Disease Association and throw a star-studded bash, inviting Jane Wilde Hawking, their son Tim, daughter Lucy, and local celebrities to a special reception, screening and Q&A at London’s Soho Hotel.
Reaching out to local agents and bookers saw us welcome Matthew Horne (Gavin and Stacey), Jonathan Bailey (Broadchurch), Louise Thompson (Made in Chelsea), Jamal Edwards MBE (SB.TV), Maisie Richardson-Sellers (The Originals), Kat Shoob (Capital Radio), Sean Fletcher and Charlotte Hawkings (Good Morning Britain), Pip Anderson (Star Wars: Episode VII), Laura Pradelska (Game of Thrones) and former Olympian Louise Hazel to the evening.
The likes of Red Carpet TV, Mail on Sunday, OK!, New!, Star and various news agencies and photographers also dropped by – ensuring a potent mix.
All in all, the event allowed us to secure social media support and informal endorsements from our guests without investing hefty fees, and successfully raise awareness of the MNDA’s fantastic work and the film’s home entertainment release via coverage in outlets including:

- The Sun
- Stylist online
The campaign was further supported via interviews with real-life case-studies who have encountered Motor Neurone Disease in their own lives, editorial features which examined the strong women behind famous men, and strategic asset placement. We’re keeping everything crossed for a #1 position in the sale charts this week!
