Celebrating the successes of the UK Home Ent. Industry.
Full of glitz, glamour, dinosaurs, singing and anticipation, last night’s BASE Awards proved to be another triumphant year for the UK Home Ent. industry, and the Zero Degrees West team were there to celebrate the year’s successes with our contemporaries and clients.
It was a year of challenges for us all; constantly changing audience landscapes, continued growth of On Demand platforms, social media mayhem and a very noisy market. With such significant transformations happening within our industry, it’s great that the BASE Awards recognised the sector’s diversification by introducing two new categories – Creative Marketing Initiative of the Year, and Campaign of the Year for Catalogue: Digital Product.
As champions of the UK Home Ent. market, we made it our mission to take these challenges head on, ensuring our clients got the attention they deserved. We strived to push disc and digital sales for both distributors and retailers across new release and catalogue, and as a UK agency with international reach, we were involved in asset origination for some of the year’s biggest Home Ent. releases, including Wonder Woman and Fantastic Beats and Where to Find Them.
This all meant that we played a part in an incredible 12 BASE Awards nominated campaigns, including being nominated by eOne for the Supplier of the Year award!

Now on to the results. We were thrilled that our work was part of 4 winning campaigns last night, including hmv, Sony’s The Crown and Warner Bros.’ Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them!
Congratulations to all of the winners! We owe thanks to our clients for the opportunities to contribute to these award-winning campaigns. With an array of awesome releases spread across our clients’ rosters, it was an incredible honour to be chosen as part of their creative line up.
No campaign is a success without the hard work of our talented team and the support of our clients, and we wanted to share our thanks from the team in their own words.

“Physical retail is an ever-evolving market, and hmv have really embraced this evolution. It’s no wonder they had so many wins this year. They deserve every single one, and I’m proud that we had the opportunity to strategise and create such effective campaigns with them. Congratulations, guys!”

“We have been working with Stephanie Don and the Home Ent. product team at eOne for a few years now and they are a real pleasure to work alongside. Last year was a great success with eOne and all our clients, and this year is looking even stronger. We are incredibly proud to be part of the UK Home Ent. Industry. For all the difficulties that changing consumer habits and technologies cause, all UK clients and agencies are still putting out some of the best creative in the global market, and that’s definitely something to celebrate.”

on getting nominated for Supplier of the Year

Despite not collecting the award for Supplier of The Year this time, we were thrilled to be highly commended by the judging panel.
“Zero Degrees West have been highly commended for a first-class level of creativity, use of video and interactive platforms to create hyper-targeted campaigns. Using their experience across digital, outdoor and print has seen the team create incredible assets that are perfect for the digital-first world. An unrivalled home entertainment market knowledge and film fan insight secures the coverage and engagement their clients crave.”
