When Warner Bros. needed a campaign for Elvis, they asked us to take care of business…

Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis is a stunning spectacle and eye-opening biopic based on the life of an icon, and anticipation for the title was huge – so much so that Warner Bros. initially asked us to create drafting content to celebrate his history of movies and documentaries, in preparation for the new wave of Presley mania. Our assets stirred them into asking us to take on the home ent campaign for their tentpole title.

Starring instant hit newcomer, Austin Butler, and the legendary Tom Hanks, our campaign had to deliver the film’s unparalleled pedigree, while giving audiences a glimpse into the fascinating yet tragic life of Elvis, and his villainous manager, Colonel Tom Parker.

From edits celebrating his love of Priscilla to pull on the heart-strings, to our interactive IG Story that highlighted the media’s contradictory love/hate relationship with the star, as well as delving into his musical influences on Beale Street, our campaign sought to entice fans with the many nuances of Elvis.

Of course, we also dialled up the rock ‘n’ roll with hip-shaking social, and exclusive extra content assets. We worked closely with filmmakers to keep our campaign close to its source material, resulting in Baz himself requesting assets for him to post.

This epic project has kept the team on their Blue Suede Shoe-covered toes over the last few months, and it paid off, with Elvis hitting top of the digital charts, and huge engagement across our assets. It’s been a blast, but now we can say that Elvis has left the building.
